Description

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Ensure safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned route. Operate school bus that transports students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated location.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Valid Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B) with Passenger and School Bus endorsement OR acquire Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B) with Passenger and School Bus endorsement within 90 days of employment.

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Must be 20 years of age
  • Ability to pass alcohol, drug, and physical test
  • Must pass a background and driver’s license check
  • Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of student discipline procedure
  • Ability to manage student behavior
  • Ability to operate a school bus or ability to be trained to operate a school bus

 

Experience:  None

 

 

SALARY:                  Current bus driver rate working 176 days annual; salary dependent upon experience
