Job Title:  Technology - Summer Student                                

Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt

Reports to:  Asst. Director - Technology

Pay:  $10 per hour 

Dept./School:   Technology

Date Revised:  4.8.2024

 

Work Days:  

May 28-31 - 8am-4:30 pm

June 3-28 & July 8-Aug 1 - 7am-5pm (7am-4:30 pm on Thursdays)

Primary Purpose: Perform on-site cleaning and prepping computers for student use, including updating and looking for damages. Possible maintenance of computer equipment, network, and software applications throughout the district or at assigned campus. 

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Current student of Waller ISD
  • 16 yrs or older
  • Clear and valid driver’s license

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of computer workstation setup 
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
  • Ability to maintain computers and peripherals
  • Ability to diagnose problems and perform repair

 

Experience:

  • 1 year of work experience installing, maintaining, and repairing computers and peripherals preferred. 

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Technical Support

  • Assist with installation of computers and peripherals throughout the district. 
  • Assist with relocating computer hardware, peripherals, and equipment as needed.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of chromebooks

 

Equipment Repair and Maintenance

  • Repair hardware issues.
  • Remove old equipment and use inventory processes accordingly.
  • Assists in  preventive maintenance schedules for  classroom devices.

 

Other

  • Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Other job duties as assigned

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

 

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals

  • Posture: Prolonged sitting, Prolonged walking

  • Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse

  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 45 pounds)

  • Environment: Work is primarily performed in an office environment with frequent district wide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours

  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
