Transportation Department, Waller I.S.D.

                                               

Primary Purpose:  Serve as full time substitute bus driver. Assume duties of regular and special needs driver. Provide clerical, custodial, camera and bus maintenance support as needed.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Texas Class B CDL with P & S Endorsement
• Must be 18 years of age
• Have and maintain a satisfactory driving record

 

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Effective telephone, radio and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively while maintaining composure and respond in an appropriate manner
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
• Ability to pass alcohol and drug test and annual physical
• Ability to manage student behavior
• Proficient in operating a computer utilizing Microsoft Office and other transportation software
• Ability to operate a school bus and other district vehicles

 

Experience:

• One year of experience as certified school bus driver
• Ability to work shifts as needed

 

SALARY:                   Current bus driver rate working 176 days annual; salary dependent upon experience
